Cheapest Electric Cars in Pakistan: Prices, Range and Charging Compared

A few years ago, an affordable EV in Pakistan usually meant a used import. That has changed. You can now buy a locally sold electric hatchback from about PKR 35 lakh, and a microcar-class vehicle for roughly PKR 11 lakh.
This guide compares the cheapest electric cars in Pakistan on price, battery size, claimed range, charging compatibility and who each one suits. We checked prices on 11 October 2026.
Quick answer
The lowest-priced electric vehicle is the Alektra Metro, from about PKR 10.95 lakh, but it is a small quadricycle, not a full-size car. The cheapest regular electric hatchbacks are the Inverex Xio EV-140 at PKR 34.99 lakh and the Honri Ve 2.0 at PKR 35.99 lakh. Treat both as city cars.
About the prices: every figure here is an ex-factory list price. It leaves out freight, registration, withholding tax, insurance and dealer documentation charges, so the on-road price is higher. Dealers also change prices often, so get a written quotation before you pay a booking amount.

The Cheapest EVs in Pakistan, Model by Model
Alektra Metro: the cheapest, with a catch
The Metro comes as a 2-door or 4-door with three lithium battery options. It is a quadricycle, imported and sold under the Alektra badge, so compare it with a rickshaw replacement or a short-hop runabout, not a Suzuki Alto. Listed prices run from PKR 10.95 lakh to PKR 13.95 lakh. The dealer quotes a two-year battery and motor warranty, and estimated range runs from 80 to 180 km depending on the pack.
Before you book one, confirm how it is classified and registered, its top speed, and what parts and service support exist in your city.
- Lowest price by a wide margin
- Small battery, so charging is cheap and quick
- Low speed class and no airbags listed
- Not for motorways or long trips
Who it suits: a second vehicle for short, low-speed errands.
Inverex Xio: the cheapest proper hatchback
The Xio comes in three versions: EV-140 (14.72 kWh LFP, PKR 34.99 lakh), EV-220 (19.14 kWh LFP, PKR 41.99 lakh) and EV-320 (31.28 kWh NCM, PKR 51.99 lakh). Only the EV-220 and EV-320 have a CCS2 DC port. The EV-140 charges on AC alone. The listed warranty is five years or 100,000 km on the vehicle and eight years or 120,000 km on the battery.
- Lowest entry price among regular hatchbacks
- Strong warranty terms on paper
- EV-140 has no DC fast charging
- Compact four-seater with a modest top speed
Who it suits: city commuters with home charging who want the lowest price.
Honri Ve: locally assembled, widely serviced
The Honri Ve 2.0 (18.5 kWh, 200 km CLTC) is listed at PKR 35.99 lakh. The Ve 3.0 (29.9 kWh LFP, 300 km CLTC) is PKR 43.99 lakh after a price cut. The warranty is three years or 100,000 km on the vehicle and eight years or 120,000 km on the battery. A full charge from a home socket takes about seven hours, and the car is AC-only.
- Local assembly and nationwide support
- Ve 3.0 gives usable range for the money
- No DC fast charging
- Shorter vehicle warranty than some rivals
Who it suits: buyers who care more about after-sales reach than features.
GuGo GiGi: a two-door commuter
The GiGi is a compact two-door with a 16.8 kWh battery and a 220 km claim under the older NEDC standard, priced around PKR 37.5 lakh. AC charging takes four to five hours. Treat that NEDC figure with caution (see the range section below).
Who it suits: a single driver or couple in a crowded city where parking is tight.
JMEV EV3: budget pricing with DC charging
Listed at PKR 48.99 to 49.99 lakh, the EV3 has a 30.24 kWh LFP battery, a 330 km CLTC claim and CCS2 DC charging, with an eight-year or 120,000 km battery warranty. A 10 to 80 percent DC charge is quoted at around 40 minutes.
Who it suits: drivers who want a bigger battery and occasional fast charging without MG or BYD pricing.
Dongfeng Box Smart 330 and MG Binguo: more space around PKR 55 to 60 lakh
The Dongfeng Box Smart 330 is listed at PKR 55 lakh with a 32.56 kWh LFP pack, a 330 km claim, CCS2 DC charging and an eight-year or 200,000 km battery warranty. The MG Binguo has a 31.9 kWh LFP battery, a claimed 333 km (CLTC) and CCS2 DC charging, with 10 to 80 percent in about 35 minutes. Binguo listings range from PKR 56.99 to 59.99 lakh, so confirm the price with MG before booking.
Who it suits: small families who want a bigger cabin and a known brand network.
Electric Cars in Pakistan by Budget
Electric cars under PKR 5 million
Alektra Metro, Inverex Xio EV-140 and EV-220, Honri Ve 2.0 and 3.0, GuGo GiGi and JMEV EV3. For range, pick the Honri Ve 3.0 or JMEV EV3. For the lowest price, pick the Xio EV-140.
Electric cars under PKR 7 million
Everything above, plus the Xio EV-320, Dongfeng Box Smart 330, MG Binguo and the MG4 EV Urban at PKR 69.99 lakh. A Chery Q is also listed at about PKR 55.54 lakh, but we could not verify its specs, so it is not in our table.
Electric cars under PKR 10 million
The BYD Atto 2 at PKR 72.90 lakh joins the list. Other models sit in this band too, but we only cover cars whose prices and specs we could verify. For a wider view, see our list of the best electric cars in Pakistan and the complete list of EVs on sale.
MG4 EV Urban vs BYD Atto 2
These two are the usual shortlist once your budget passes PKR 65 lakh. Our full BYD Atto 2 vs MG4 Urban comparison goes deeper. Here is the short version.
| Factor | MG4 EV Urban | BYD Atto 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Ex-factory price | PKR 69.99 lakh | PKR 72.90 lakh |
| Battery | 43 kWh | 45.12 kWh |
| Claimed range | 316 km (WLTP) | 380 km (NEDC) |
| Vehicle warranty | 5 years / 150,000 km | 6 years / 150,000 km |
| Battery warranty | 8 years / 150,000 km | 8 years / 160,000 km |
The MG4 costs PKR 2.91 lakh less. The Atto 2 has the larger battery and the longer vehicle warranty. Notice the two range figures use different standards, so the 64 km gap on paper overstates the real difference.
New vs Used Electric Cars
Used and imported EVs can look cheaper, but the risks are different from a petrol car. The battery is the big unknown. A pack that has lost capacity cuts range and resale value, and replacing it is the most expensive repair on any EV.
- Battery health: ask for a diagnostic report, not a verbal promise.
- Warranty: locally sold new cars carry dealer cover, while many imports do not. Ask whether it transfers to a second owner.
- Accident history: underbody or structural damage can affect the battery pack and safety.
- Import papers: confirm customs clearance and registration. Duties change the final cost, so check our EV import duty guide.
- Parts and software support: grey-market models can be hard to service.
We have not listed used or imported prices because they vary too much to verify. Our EV battery guide explains degradation and what to ask for.
Real-World Range and Charging Costs
Why advertised range is not what you will get
NEDC, WLTP, CLTC and EPA are different test methods. NEDC and CLTC usually give the most optimistic numbers, WLTP is stricter, and EPA is usually the most conservative. A 330 km CLTC claim and a 330 km WLTP claim are not the same car. Our guide to WLTP vs NEDC vs CLTC vs EPA shows how to compare them.
Air conditioning in summer, motorway speeds, a full car and hilly roads all cut range. A rough rule many drivers use is to plan on 70 to 80 percent of the claimed figure for mixed driving, and less for motorway trips in summer. That is a rule of thumb, not a measured figure.
Home vs public charging
Most budget EV owners charge at home. A full charge costs about the battery size in kWh multiplied by your per-unit electricity rate, plus a little charging loss. A wall socket works for small packs but is slow. A dedicated AC unit is faster and safer, and our home EV charging guide covers the setup. Public charging prices vary by network, and older posts quoting a flat Rs 94 per unit are out of date. See EV charging cost in Pakistan for current numbers.
Connector type matters too. A GB/T car may not simply plug into a CCS2 charger, so read whether a GB/T EV can use a CCS2 charger before you rely on a station. Find chargers near you on the EVraah charging station map, plan longer trips with the route planner, and for motorway journeys see our guide to EV charging stations on Pakistan's motorways.
How to Choose the Right Affordable EV
- Daily distance: add a buffer of at least 30 to 40 percent to your usual round trip.
- Charging access: without home or work charging, a cheap EV is hard to live with.
- Battery warranty: compare years, kilometres and what counts as a covered failure, and get it in writing.
- Service network: find out how far the nearest authorised workshop is.
- Safety: look at airbags, ABS and crash-test results, not only range.
- Total cost: weigh servicing and fuel savings using our EV vs petrol running cost and EV maintenance cost guides.
Are Cheap Electric Cars Worth Buying in Pakistan?
For the right driver, yes. A short daily commute with overnight home charging is where a budget EV saves the most, and low servicing costs add to it. It is a weaker fit if you have one car that also has to handle intercity trips, if you lack reliable home electricity, or if you are counting on strong resale value. The used market is still young.
The cheaper models give up range, speed class, safety equipment and DC charging to hit their price. If one car has to do everything, the MG4 Urban or BYD Atto 2 class is easier to live with. Policy could move prices too, so read our notes on the 2026-31 auto policy and EV tax relief before you decide.
